Challenge: Advertisement Revisited (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D

I noticed this bulletin board in downtown Atlanta near to the location of the Gay Pride Parade. I was striken by its parallel to the superficiality of Beauty Pageants with their sale of sex and physical beauty. Conversely, I was called to the sale of what I consider opposite and very important values: acceptance and social change. Taken in the evening. Minor cropping and hue saturation modification.

So you just took a picture of an existing advertisement.

This is simply a photograph of another advert...

Not creative by using someone elses ad

This is a technically well executed image but it appears to be a shot of an advertising board. Thus lacks photographioc integrity IMO. You've shot someone else's artwork.

This is not an ad. It is a picture of an ad.

I am giving you a low score, not for the subject matter, but that you basiclly took a shot of someone elses art. It wouldn't have mattered what the billboard was of.

If you had found a similar looking model, or a model that could be made to 'look' gay (Whatever that means) and had a sign being held or next to him talking abotu Mr. Gay.com 2004, I would have provided a higher score.

I don't like the glare where the board is folding. I don't think a photo of a billboard really meets the challenge.

your picture for advertisement is a picture of an advertisement- completely without any merit

Shooting an image of a billboard really doesn't show your creativity. I think I understand the point of the image based on the title. It really isn't your work, but someone else's.
If I'm wrong, private e-mail me and let me know.

definitely an advertisement. but i think the challenge was more to make your own, rather than take a picture of another. and there is a lot of glare and wrinkles on the billboard, with a weird background.

I like the message here, but I wonder if it could be improved by having something of your choice in front of it or around it. Righ now, it almost relys on the creative effort of the advertiser. However, I do like the lighting you shot it in and I like the angle.

This is a picture *of* an ad. Doesn't meet the challenge.
