And that is why I love photography. It gives the lie to art. It mocks the God-like reputation of the creative artist, exposes the myth of the auteur who completely controls what he creates. It celebrates the accident of art, puts the focus on the piece instead of the person. All art comes from happy accidents, from fragile moments when circumstance and inspiration meet each other in just the right way.
