 2 challenge entries in less than a month and 3 for the year. I used to average 2.3 entries a week. Oh how the times have changed.

I saw nico_blue's entry into high fashion - , and from the first look I knew that I had to do that shot. I just needed to wait for a deja vu or self portrait challenge to come up. How lucky could I be that a SP challenge comes up while his image is still on the front page of the archives and in an open challenge with advanced editing (I am no longer a paid member).

My 30d is in the shop so I had to use a borrowed 300d (my rebel hotshoe is broken). I did a number of test shots to get the lighting correct (I think I came pretty close). Aimee made me the tie out of dinner napkins (white ties are hard to come by). The complete setup after getting the camera and lights set took two people beyond me. Aidan hit the shutter while Aimee worked the shirt and tie with fishing poles. The fan I had underneath me wouldnt blow all the parts I needed in the right place. The pose was painful - to hold it for a couple of minutes at a time was not fun. Replicating this shot was very challenging.

I hope i do not offend nico. He does brilliant work and this is certainly not meant to mock him. This is all just for a good laugh.

I dont expect a high score on this one - but I am looking forward to the comments. Be nice please. ;)

BTW, I don't know you well, but you seem like lost weight over the years. You now can fit in one frame LOL

AMAZING!!! YOU ROCK! Congrats on the shot and score!

I had to buy an industrial fan from home depot for my shot :) Btw I can't believe the tie is made out of paper napkins, looks great.

I think you might have done better to drop the gimmick - focus, lighting, sharpness are all there, but the joke doesn't really come off.

My second favorite entry. It would have been my #1 if the eyes were not so Photoshopped. I love this image. What a great sense of humor. Pose is hysterical and lighting is excellent. Seriously, look closely at the shadows in the belly button. Fades in ever so slowly. A perfect gradient.

This shot is really good, the only thing wrong IMO is the left side of the face on my screen seems a bit out of focus and has a plastic feel to it, but really great none the less.
