 This is a wood board I painted white and hammered nails into to form the asterisks from my typeface that I created named loom. I used hand dyed yarn to weave my pattern between the nails.

I remember doing this with wire when I was young - completely forgotten about til now! Not sure it makes for a particularly interesting photo - its just sort of 'there'. Did you consider strong side-lighting to try and cast shadows of the patterns on the board?
