Captured in downtown San Francisco, CA during a sunny day. This gentleman was standing there in the crowds, yet distinctly visible due to his colorful (Jamaican?) hat, and his expressions (notice the stick he is chewing). I followed his moods for quite sometime, but he seemed to be in his own world..as if everything else is a bokeh to him (hence the title).
I think I am risking it huge by desaturating it, since one of the main aspects of the picture was the tri colors in his hat. Don't know how the voters are gonna like it... we'll see...

Nice! This is fantastic if you ask me. Only a few problems. In post the photo has been over-sharpened, the photo is much too grainy, and the background stick out too much. I would like this shot more if it has a black background, and the quality was a bit better. Nice job though, really great.
This image probably would have gotten an 8 from me in a Free Study. I think it is a marvelous portrait! However, in regards to this challenge I don't feel like the bokeh is really complimenting your subject. It certainly isn't hurting, but it is kind of just "There". I do feel like I need to judge this photo based on the challenge at hand rather than just whether I like it or not, so I will be giving you a 6. Sorry
I was torn on this image, between a 5 and a 6, I gave you a 5, and I'll explain that decision, but first, let me explain why it almost got a 6.. It was fairly unique among this field of very strong entries, and it has great emotional impact.
Now, why did it get the lower score?
Simple, I think the B&W was a questionable processing choice, and the image looks a bit too high in contrast.
Your bokeh is too sharp, I much prefer a smoother softer creamy bokeh.. Still a nice image, and I was glad to see it in the challenge.
