I like the flower, the composition is good too. More DOF would have helped your photo in my taste and a little bit more contrast. You seem to have picked the perfect time to shoot this flower. More saturation would have given more punch to your purple. Lot of details for a flower that seem so small. |

Well this fits the challenge there is no question there. You have a very good dof going on with this macro, nicely done and excellent sharpness on the bloom itself.
The photo just doesn't pop out to make it one of those grab your attention photos, possibly cropping it closer and losing some of the right side and bottom would improve it. I just think as it is now it's too centered.
That bug is something else in the photo when I first looked at it I though oh it needs to go then when I look at it again it adds character to the photo.
It is a good photo and appears to be well done...keep up the good work. |

The flower is great as is the shallow DoF to blur the background. Bug hitchhiker is a nice extra. The border is unnecessary and especially the purple line. |

Took me a second to find the bug but it was a welcomed addition. A slightly narrower aperture would've gotten all the petals in focus as it appears soft around the outside edges. Nice soft background but could've used slightly more contrast, perhaps bringing up the levels to raise the highlights. |
