For critique: I sat at the bottom of this staircase, trying to capture three things: the receding lights in the center, the "square spiral" shape of the staircase, and a single person actually on the staircase, ideally in one of the lower corners to bring more interest there.

I wish there were a bit more interesting color in the scene – neither the red railing nor the goldish paint below each level are very bright or exciting - and I considered doing it in black and white. Ultimately I thought the alternating red and gold was interesting enough to keep.

I tried to frame the image very deliberately, making the top of the frame square with the top side of the staircase.

Very bizarre perspective. Made me dizzy for a second.

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: Nice composition and POV - I particularly like the hanging light fittings. The repeating geometry is of course effective as is the man who lends scale and orientation to the image.

Critical stuff: I find the image lacks any sense of drama - I think a high contrast monochrome with a vignette (removed in the bottom right corner) may have been more effective than this presentation.

Overall: An interesting idea but I'm not sure how interesting the result is.
