 Had one morning to shoot this week, and of course it was a hazy day with not a cloud in the sky. Drove down to the headlands and grabbed some shots of the Golden Gate from above and below. Nothing much going on with the light or the sky, so I waited for one of the container ships to show up. Spent a lot of time in Lightroom and PSElements trying to pop the contrast on this one, and kept going back and forth between too contrasty and too flat til I finally said "FI" and settled on this one, which is about as good as its gonna get.

Prediction: 5.5 in a normal challenge, 5.0 in the DPL. Bleh.

Really don't like the white border. It's so bright that my eyes are drawn to it rather than your photo. Would have been better to use a white line + black.

the blacks seem a bit flat, and the white bands top and bottom detract from a pretty nice image.

(27/38) Very nice. I'm not sure if the barge is a distraction or not. I might like to have seen it not so close to the brige to better balance the composition. Also, the image feels too sharp -- the haloing in the bridge cables, for instance.

I think the placement of the boat here detracts from the composition. I would have waited until it was further to the right.
