WAY too much fun to shoot. :D Didn't have time to shoot this until afternoon of deadline day, and wind kept tangling the balloons and blowing them to the side (destroying the illusion of lift). I envisioned many more balloons and this isn't quite as cool as I had originally hoped for, but was the best of the lot before the wind picked up a lot more.
This was shot just off the side of the road and I got A LOT of stares... Like A LOT. :) I can't imagine how many people went home and said "You aren't going to believe what I saw today..."
Prep consisted of buying a small helium tank, plenty of helium-grade balloons, ribbon, wooden stakes, rope, and an Air Force flight suit. I already had the lawn chair, boots, pilot's cap, and aviator goggles. :D
With THIS many entries in the challenge, I don't expect to do spectacularly well with this. If this finishes above a 6 with this many entries, I'll be ecstatic. I'm hoping the humor factor will give the score a slight bump. :) |

LOL Such a clever idea - I hope it wasn't missed by those scoring quickly as it really needs a bit to take it all in. Well done. |

Danny Deckchair. I love it. The composition and setting are terrific. I love the dark line of the mountain range, and the muted tones of the desert floor which contrast the burst of brightly coloured balloons. Nice detail with the flight gear. One of my favourites so far. |

ideally you could have had even more balloons but this is really great - good luck (best so far) |

the dude strikes again. I think you need some rockets and a tricycle to help you on your mission. |
