One can not go to NYC without trying to capture the grandeur of this great icon.

The sky was washed out on my original, because I had exposed for the statue, but I managed to recuperate it, although not without some grain.

Here's my own version of this classic. Full frame, hand held.

Beautiful....... fitting reminder of a gift from true friends - the French people.

Yes, an extraordinary lady with loads of character. Nice composition and use of some pretty flat lighting.

Doesn't meet the challenge brief. Good luck. ;)

Nice treatment and emotive lighting. Good shot.

The background is nice and fits the subject, yet, I find the overall effect overworked. A 4.

Beautiful treament of a classic. I love the soft look washed over it, with the flame giving just the right touch of accent and color.

When I saw the thumbnail I thought just another picture of the staue of liberty. But seeing the full image I must admit I really like the tones here. The green from the statue also recurring in the sky, the gold colored flame, really nice.

I'm not usually a fan of soft focus but it works very well here.

I like the overal green tinge to the shot, including the dramatic sky. The soft focus is also interesting, and I think it works here in a mythical type of way. Good shot!

Nicely done. Could have so easily been boring, but it really works. The nicely contrasting touch of gold and lack of distracting elements are two things that strike me immediately.

Looks very stormy. I love the neutral density effect. Very nice color! I also like your choice in softness. I think the composition could be a little better though, perhaps move her to the left a little?

With a subject that is so frequently and prominently photographed, it's difficult to offer a particularly unique or compelling view of it. While I think this is a solid and well executed shot that isn't completely generic (due to the cloud backgroud and the soft focus), I also don't really find anything here that makes me feel like I haven't seen it a hundred times before. I'm sorry if that's not an especially constructive comment, but I wanted to at least provide my honest reaction to the shot.
