Continuing my quest for the perfect duck photo! Not there yet, but having fun on the journey :)

I used the flowers on the far side of the main lodge at Yarrow Valley in the evening sunlight to get the coloured reflection - which meant using as much zoom as possible, focusing manually, and using a slower shutter speed than I would have liked.

Wow... Great image with interesting elements. The duck is well detailed and nicely positioned in the frame. The water and reflections are really the star in my opinion. Excellent light control and dof. Nicely done.

The reflections in the water are what make this photo stand out. Technically, I just don't see how this one could get any better. Sharp as a tack, great colors and textures with the water and the feathers. It's just a duck, yes - but wonderfully captured.

The zoom has added a nice effect to the water by compressing the ripples..when this is combined with the pastel like colours of purple and green it brings the image to life.

Don't know where the purple came from but it makes this shot! I think your crop is just right too, leaving about two thirds purple above the duck. (I'm not a stickler for the rule of thirds but it certainly works well in this shot.)

Technically spot on and appealing picture, but I find the colors of the reflection a bit too strong, drawing away attention of the subject.
