Sad but true, this is in fact my best shot of the month.

Second entry using my 300D. First using my 75-300mm lens. An attempt in trying to move away from "studio" style photography...been doing that too often.

Rotated image about 80 degress, cropped, sharpened up a bit, but other than that no editing was done.

I haven't seen any photographs of an anole shot head on, so I tried it. I can't being to explain how much this shot was a pain in the ass to do. The little dude didn't want to stay still at all. When I got it in focus the anole moved...the end result, a lot of terrible shots.

seems a wee dark/underexposed (but it could be my monitor). Really like the placement of your subject in the frame..if you had to crop, you made an excellent choice! DOF adds a lot of interest too.

I'd like to see more depth of field.

I like the dof to isolate the head - he looks like he is winking. I also like the earthy tones and the green contrasts nicely. Good texture on the head and seems fairly sharp too.
