"The Travelling man" sculpture in Dallas. Shot with the National Geographic binocular camera.

Interesting thing I found. At a certain point, the film was still advancing and I was sure I had shot more than 24 exposures. Found the indicator and it showed 36 had been shot. I figured something was wrong, so I rewound it. When I had it developed, I realized this camera shoots 2 exposures on each 35mm frame, so I actually had 12 remaining.

Hehe, no idea what a "deep ellum" is, but I like the picture.

Sort of, but not exactly. Part of the problem I have with binoculars is that I used to be crosseyed and had surgery to correct it in my 20's. But the correction is not 100% and it is difficult to use something like binoculars that requires alignment of 2 close images. (I have a problem with 3D movies as well) The binocular gives an approximation of the frame.

The fact that it is only a telephoto camera makes framing a scene interesting. I was standing on the ground beneath the robot and this was what I got, as opposed what I can get at 18mm with my SLR:

It's a half frame camera. Does it give you any indication of the frame while you're looking through the binoculars?

Love the image. Would have fitted the robots side challenge perfectly.

I do like this -- the grain especially. Very abstract too.

Sounds like this is a half-frame camera?

Looks like a frame from an old sci-fi movie...

"Gloriously flawed" indeed - fantastic abstraction.

Turned out quite nice.

So...this camera uses less than the 35mm frame...an early crop body?!

Interesting about the film. I love the unpredictability of these cameras.
