My brother sucks as a model, and as for the brown coloring behind him, that is my freakin' ugly cabinets. I'm unable to remodel my house to my liking due to multiple reasoning the main one being money and the second being due to the simple fact I am still paying off my mortgage.
This is the first challenge I ever entered and I didn't expect it to be any good. As for the blurriness I'm still learning my camera and it was on auto focus and he moved right as it snapped. For the shadowing under his eye, I can't really explain that other then he's been on 10 hour days 6 days a week and I know for a fact he was tired. My husband has the same shadowing and they work together. |

I think the idea is good. There are a couple of things you might want to think about in the future. First make sure you have enough shutter speed or whatever settings that you want to adjust, to get stopped motion so that you avoid motion blur in your image. Secondly, The drink is obscuring part of the subject's face. Try to shoot when the cup is near but not in front of the face. I think that if you try these 2 suggestions you will find that your images will get better and better. |

The colour of your drink is very brown indeed.
Otherwise, the photo is slightly out of focus (or is it camera shake?) |

I'm sorry to say but i'm not a big fan of this pic. It is a bit blurry and with the stubble it makes it distracting. I like the lighting from behind the camera (From reflection in glass) However i'm not a fan of the background or the shadows on the left side of the photo under his eyes. Maybe if it were in focus and had a little better lighting (i suggest using a reflector/ Fill flash[in a different contest] ) Then my score personally would be higher. Another thing is the merger between the subjects hair and the background; changing location would have helped the photo greatly. |

Well I was one of your low voters and thought I would drop a comment to explain why. I find this to be out of focus due to camera shake or missed focus. The subjects face is covered by his drink and is more a candid snapshot than a portrait. The color is rather drab as it is all neutral. Guess that is all. Thanks. |

Not appealing, and out of focus. |
