Two problems:
1) Last couple weeks I sat out an didn't really review or judge any challenges.
2) I thought I had an idea that hasn't been seen here for some time.

Result:
Bad move, never sit out and I should never think I have a good idea.

KarenNfld did a fantastic job with this concept just in a recent challenge (Orange II).



Karen - I like yours much better.

Funny thing I didn't realize this was done till the comments started rolling in. Sorry, didn't want to appear as a copy cat, just never thought to check recent challenges.

KarenNfld asks a wonderful questions - how did I stack them and most importantly how many did break?

Answer: smashed two and spilled one all over my head (go figure - my luck) and a bit on my youngest 1 year old daugther.

As Karen wrote, the glasses are balanced like that with no photoshop tricks, no invisible strings or wires. I got lucky and managed to get these to balance without any glue on the the bottom glass. However, it was needed for when I added the water. I just couldn't get them to stand (lost two).

Steps:
-------------------------
- Convert From Raw
- Heal couple dirty water spots on the green glass
- Heal one water spot on the red glass
- Topaz Adjust - Clarity - default settings
- Smart Sharpen (100%, 1)
- Resize
- Sharpen Edges
- Save for web

I encourage all to try this fun trick - just do it in the kitchen and have a mop bucket with you.

Congrats on your finish top 10. Great image. I know you didnt copy Karen's fabulous photo but there's nothing wrong with admiring someone else's work and trying to accomplish it. That's one of the ways of learning. Great job.

I love this whenever I see the thumbnail, but am disappointed when I see the full size and see the all the different reflections in the classes. I find them very distracting.

Cool, you got them to stack! Did you break any glasses? Really neat but you should work a bit more on your lighting so there are no reflections in the glasses. It looks like you have 2 softboxes on either side of your setup. Try just backlighting with one light, no other lights/flashes at all.

Somewhat a stock shot, but the added twist of the offset stacking really adds to teh impact. Well done. Lighting is great.

Now this I like a lot! The simple colors, the nice angles involves and the simple background with the line grounds it. Maybe one of my favorites for this competition.

This would be a lot more impressive if it hadn't been done in just the previous challenge.

I like the balance shots, but this is almost exactly the same as a photo in the Orange II challenge. Hope it's not the same photographer!!

Setup is good. The lighting and its reflections on the glass does not work for these kinda shots for me.
