Greetings from the Critique Club!
Composition and Lighting: Not much to complain about here, the composition is dynamic with the angles of the pills. And lighting is like a product shot. I'd also like to see what you could do playing with the lights to do dramatic side lighting or back lighting or something.
Technical: The first thing that strikes me is that the focus isn't totally sharp on the red pill. Which at f/29, you would think that would be sharp eh?
Conceptual: Obviously this is where you got killed as far as score goes for this challenge. DPC is quite literal. Personally, I like it since I love the matrix.
Overall: Carry this creativity and attention to lighting across some other challenges in a way most DPCers can understand, and you'll be on the quick road to higher scores =)

I gave it a 7. Pic was really only a 5 for me, but it was such a creative OOTB idea, that it deserved something extra. I was looking at your shot details. F29? Doesn't sound right for such a pic, especially given the shallow DOF. I see you used a closeup filter. That explains some of it. Is the F29 a typo?
In a nutshell, some better depth of field and some adjustments to give it a little wow factor were all this needed. It only came in so low because most voters did not see the connection to the topic. |

Hmmmph. I thought photographers had imagination. Call the police, you were robbed. Keep the OOTB thinking, it will eventually pay off. |

I like the concept here. Nice OOTB thinking, but probably won't make sense to anyone that didn't see "The Matrix". |

Creative, out of the box thinking! Not only do I like the idea, but the photo itself seems to be well executed. A bit soft around the edges, but I am not sure if 100% sharpness would have been any better! gets a 9 from my camp! |

Anyone who doesn't know Alice in Wonderland won't really get this picture and you are probably getting some DNMC's... I won't be one of them.
The left side of the photo looks slightly OOF with the red pill being a little closer to the camera and the blue pill somewhat farther away, perhaps a slightly higher DoF would bring that in focus. It is only a slight distraction. You got great color and great lighitng with shadows to boot! Overall a good presentation with a twist on the challenge topic. |

Clever - but it's still just a picture of two pills. If this same shot was done in someone's hand, with dark background, it would have been much, much better. The white background just makes it look staged and... well... stale. |
