Bound to attract a fair share of DNMC comments so i'll explain a bit.

This photo was taken during the birth of my daughter, Matilda, on 28th March, by cesarean section. Might be an odd choice of photo to represent that 'entrance' some might think but for me this perfectly captures the worry, unease and apprehension when in theatre. This was always there in the background even though it was quite a fun, joyous time. We had a particularly caring and funny anesthetist to joke with during the procedure.

Of course, i have numerous wonderful photos of my daughter at the moment she was born but they are too harsh and bloody to show here on DPC, likewise i have photos from 30 mins later when she is cleaned up and they are great and emotional but don't really portray the 'entrance' as it were.

I really love this image and all elements seem to work for me. The strong primary reds and blues are great and can be seen to reflect typical childlike play colours i feel. Likewise, the title, taken from what is seen from the logo of the operating table reflect big capital letters on building blocks and also holds an air of mystery.

I've been going back and forth thinking whether to enter this in this challenge or the Free Study as it's one of my favourite images of the month but i think i'll just stick with it here even though i'm sure it'll take a pounding.

This was just too obscure to project the idea of entrance.

Well now I see what's happening. And now I really see the humor in this... New dad passed out on the floor due to the entrance of his new child!! What the heck did the nurse say when you got on the floor to take a picture under the table?? I see that is her shoe now. Too funny! The context helped a lot! Congrats to you and your family!

Wow, great story and neat take on the challenge. I probably would not have gotten it, but I didn't vote on it. If I had I probably would have given a 5 or 6 because it is very eye catching, but now that I know what it is I would give it an 8. Really cool.

Entance? It's vry blurry and doesn't seem to have a focal point.

Is that an operating room? Hope you had enough spare units of blood.

I REALLY had to study this to realise what it was. I am glad I took the time to do this. Very unique.

Blood on the floor, and what looks like the base of some equipment. Either a hospital or a slaughterhouse is my guess. Kind of a strange pic, but you made me stop to examine it closer, so that is worth a positive vote.

I think this is suffering for me from a lack of context. I can see blood and possibly some kind of tool or machine, but I can't tell what is happening. what's with the light blue cloth hanging down on the left side? It just hides some of the details like that things that looks like a glove.
