Taken in Venice during the 2nd LA DPC meet. I asked this man if I could take his picture and he had no problem whatsoever. Here's how I got the picture:

1. Crop.
2. Resize.
3. Convert to sepia using hue/saturation with colorize option checked.
4. Adjust levels, brightness and saturation.
5. USM.
6. Save for web.

Thanks for the comments everyone! To answer a few questions...

1. Yes, he was looking straight at the camera when I took his picture so, yes, he's looking at YOU. :)

2. I am not in the reflection at all. I believe those are his jeans in the reflection.

3. About the highlights, I wish they weren't there either. I tried to burn those nasty spots but it was to no avail. There weren't enough details for Photoshop to use for burning so I had to leave them alone. I suppose I could have cloned some in but I didn't think of that until just now.

great character study. I like the story presented with the missing shoe. I wish the highlights in his jeans weren't o blown out, but it is a great image in any event.

Cool soothing picture, makes me want to just sit down, kick of my shoes and just relax.

Great job!!! Is he looking at me? I love the sepia tone on this, although the original was excellent too. Such a human interest photo! Great composition and contrast!
