 I had a terrible time choosing for this one, but I decided to pick this landscape after the majority of those I harrassed for opinions encouraged me to do so. It was between a bug macro that I'm very proud of; judging by how DPCers love bug shots, I might regret going with this one, but the lighting was so spectacular I can't help loving this photo.

I spent some time in California earlier this month and was out swimming when the sky clouded over; everything was glowing with the warm sunlight of evening, so I sent for my camera right then and started taking pictures from within the lake. This was the one I thought to be most balanced, though I took many that I loved. The colour manipulation is minimal, and I only did that to correct for the shutter speed being fast; what you see is what it looked like in person.

Editing: Resizing, curves, hue/saturation, cloned out a small sign that was distracting, sharpened a tad and faded it about 40%.

The contrasts look great here. Cloning out the playground equipment might add to the nature theme.

I love the lighting on this one, but I think the composition could have been a little more dynamic. The swingset merged with the tree is also a very slight problem. Not critical errors but just something to think about.

This photo looks very nice, and I like the sky and the colors. It's not something you see every day. It almost wow's me, but something is holding me back..
I can't pinpoint excactly what that is. You scored an 8 here (and normaly i vote low) but it's better then most 8's so I might turn it into a 9 later.

If I know what's wrong (in my view) I'll update this comment.

Wow, I love the saturated colors. The tire tracks are a little distracting but this is a minor point. Well done.

Would be perfect without the tracks...clone in some grass or something and it would be a nice print. Good color, DOF, detail. :o)
