For the few that was currious how this shot was done, and what the blue is.. well here it is.. basicly I took a blue bowl from the kitchen lite the match, dropped the match book into the center of the bowl and took a few macros.... other than that the rest is just my vision of art so thats why the corners are cut off... ok well thats it..

Neat photo. Excellent job on the exposure to say the least.

First thing I noticed about this picture was that the matchbok was cut off at top and bottom. The second thing I noticed was the cool blue colors. I'm not sure what the stuff in the background is. If it's removable I would've taken it out. I like the way the highlight of the flame looks on the cover of the matchbook. With minor improvements regarding background and framing, this could be a really cool shot. - Inspzil

Intresting picture. Speed up the shutter a little to get a great flame.

Interesting take on the topic. The swirly background almost frames the matches, but is not too distracting. Nice idea!

I love the subject. I love the color. I love the title. If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with b--- s---. Is that all the matches it took to get the timing right? I'd a used books. I love it truly. Great techs, in my opinion. In my opinion we needed this interruption in all the seriousness and to laugh. Thanks for the laugh. I thank you. PTL After going through all of them and coming back to this you really do deserve 2 more points up to a 10. Great job well done.

Very striking photo. Ha! It really grabs your eye.

I like this one... I am wondering if just a slightly shorter shutter speed would let us see more of the match head... that might be kinda cool too.. great focus

Is the Butcher Shop Restaurant any good? =)
11/18/2002 03:58:00 PM
Ah. The Butcher Shop Steak House. Wonder if I've eaten there? Haven't lived in San Diego for over ten years. (I confess. I needed Google to figure the name out.) Interesting shot in any case.

Very cool, but you should have used an nicer looking book of matches.

Nice colour(s)! I like it. Good composition. Maybe a little "hard" for my taste but that is probably what you intended - overcontrasted. Could have been great in B&W, Great anyhow. High score from me. /carsten

is this an advertisement for your business? :) LOL.
Great idea, good title. I find myself wondering what the background is.

Very nice picture! Also has a very interesting title. =-) I like the blue, just wish there the flame was more orange. 9/10

Turn the matches a little to either side so you dont crop out the extremities.
