Very well done as far as posing and the background. Both are classic and well executed. The lighting seems a bit harsh though and slightly off for some reason. The right side of her face doesn't have a shadow but almost seems a bit darker for some odd reason. But I like it, the more I look at it, the more I like it. I started a 5 with this one because of the lighting but am going to a 7

I like the simple subtle subdued lighting in this shot. Good job of matching the background with her eyes. Could use a touch more catchlight in her eyes and maybe a touch of hairlight. Nice shot overall.

I like this portrait alot. The background is very good and I like how the lighting comes from below. Nice expression from the model, good job!

On my monitor it seems a bit bright for the mood I think you're trying to evoke; otherwise I like idea, composition, background, detail. etc.....

This portrait is excellent but I don't get the impression of your model being a dreamer from her somber and sad look. The lighting is really wonderful and skin tones and color are very good. Maybe a different pose (say with her head resting on her arms?) would express a dreamer to me. Technically very well done.

Beautiful shot with perfect lighting. My only nitpick is that the crop in the top left corner makes her head seem a bit misshapen, but that's just an optical illusion. Still, might look better with either a tighter or wider crop. Otherwise, absolutely wonderful shot - one of the best in the challenge.

Lighting: The lighting is nice and evenly distributed over what it is intended to be on. The only thing I would have changed would be to add a catchlight, the blue would have sparkled, giving the eyes a much needed spark of life.
Pose: Frankly I do not care for the expression or the hair to the right of her face. The expression does not say dreamer to me.
Background: The background is perfect. It is blurred out well, and matches her eyes.

Beautiful girl, beautiful colorful portrait, but I don't think "Dreamer" fits the look on her face and in her eyes. She looks upset...like..."and where have you been?"...ha, ha, ha Otherwise, it is absolutely beautiful.

Nice eyes. Good choice of background to match the colors of the eyes. 9

Good, but could be better. I would crop out a little more of the background on the right side, and crop higher to leave some background above her head, for better compositional balance- following the rule of thirds or golden ratio, based on the focal point, her eyes, would add to aesthetic appeal. She appears a little tense - the tip I have heard is, just before pressing the shutter, to have the subject puff up her cheeks then blow out the air, which will relax the muscles in her cheeks and lightens the mood.

Background works well for this pose; compliments her eyes very well. Good pose, effective use of lighting. Well done. :o)

Having the eyes match the background adds a lot to this image. It offsets the somber look on the model quite nicely.

Light seems a bit harsh on her face.

I like the way the lighting and the title work together but I think this needs a bit more depth of field, the sharpness in focus falls off from one side of her face to the other, her right cheek and eye are pretty sharp but the outline of her left cheek where it meets the hair is softer, enough difference that it detours my attention

A truly professional shot, complete with great lighting and the pro background. The model is absolutely lovely as well, which helps.

Gorgeous face under perfect lighting. Your background looks like it was hand-picked to bring out her eyes - great! The border has the highest contrast with that white line aginst black - so it draws way too much attention. You image does not need a border - its superb without one.

Her expression doens't really seem to convey any emotion to me. Otherwise well executed.

good image, I like the border...her expression is a little "bothered" not particularly "dreamy" but overall I like the image

Call me psychic, but this image just screams "Iceland" to me :)
Love the matching blues...great work as usual.

The uplighting is a touch strong for me - gives a slightly sinister quality, especially in the way it accentuates the eyebrow ridge. A good attempt though - quite enjoy the different poitioning within frame. A touch of shininess too - but minor. 6

Technically a good photo, but emotionally underwhelming (my main criticism). The expression seems to be more of a blank stare than daydreaming. The color is good, and I like how the background matches the eyes. The light appears to be coming from an odd direction (underneath the face)- I think it might work better higher up and more to one side.

I dont know, I just don't believe she's dreaming.
Judging by the look on her face she's planning something, maybe how to get back on her boyfriend or something...
Not a bad shot (6)

The light source seems too low, this creates unflattering shadows on her face, bringing out her the pits and crannies.

nice framing and composition. It would have been nice if their were some catchlights in the eyes but great shot anyway.

the lines from here hair parallel to the sides of the border works very well. Her look scares me a bit.

Truthfully she doesn't match your title at all to me. This is quite a 'hard' portrait with strong lines, slightly sinister lighting (from below) and a stern expression on the model's face. It's nicely composed but I think the lighting does not enhance the face very well or create much atmosphere/moodiness. If you were trying to make the viewer see her for dreamer she may be, or to portray her as visionary, then I think you could have taken her from a jaunty angle with her looking upwards - the camera skewed also - and place her in a background that is more unusual. Maybe some subtle sof focus would also help.

Great portrait of Heida, I like how the background matches the color of the eyes. The background is perfect with those color patterns, its way better than a blank one.

Good luck...

The portrait isn't bad, it's just that her eyes have such a dull, listless look to them
