This is incredible.
I am very new to the site, this is my first favorite (first comment as well).

I'd also like to say that you have captured a phenomenal image, and I am thankful that you shared it.

Impressive work-- And inspiring. I can't wait to submit something for my first challenge. Thanks!

Thanks for all the great comments and the ribbon. My daughter and I were in vacation in Tennessee and had driven up to Cades Cove as it approached sunset. The mist/fog was beginning to set in. This shot was taken as we approached the park. I pulled over and walked back to this location and fired of about 6 shots. I used my Sigma 12-24mm lens @ 12mm for this shot. I spot metered near the light on the pavement in the left of the frame. Metering on the light itself or the beams caused the shutter to be to fast making the beams nearly invisible and the gravel almost black. We had a great trip and I have some other wonderful foggy shots from that drive we took with the windows down!

Having just spent some time in a forrest where you have this kind of streaming light, I have a new appreciation for how challenging it is to get a pretty light shot like this that tells a story. Very good eye. 8

This is a really beautiful image - one of my favorites in the challenge. It's amazing how you were able to capture those bands of light witf such clarity. Great job!

my goodness, if this doesn't ribbon, I might have to eat my shorts. :) Where to start? the new asphalt is striking, the DOF is great, the light cast onto the road, not to mention of course the centerpiece of the light coming through the trees. Was this serendipitous, or planned? Bravo.

whos to say what Extraordinary is ... i dont really know myself But this may not be somthing extraordinary but it is an extraordinary picture. I love everything about it .... 10 (i have only gave 2 of them so far out of 120 pics)

Whoa! What a beautiful shot. A little more detail in the lower half might have helped but I can tell the metering here must have been rediculous to get perfect. Outstanding. 10

My first 10 in this challenge. Love the lighting and the angle of the road. Looks slightly oversharpened. Too bad that rock is on the road, eh? Great job and it's been added to my favorites!
