My first attempt at product shot photography (pure coincidence that "Product Shot II" is underway).
I used a 4x8 sheet of tile board as a base/background, slightly raised in the background. I had a large overhead florescent light, one small CFL to the left rear facing the car, one small CFL to the right rear facing the background, an SB-600 to the right facing the car and my on-camera flash. I tried to position them so that all the important edges were defined.
D90 on a tripod, with 35mm lens about 8 inches away from the car. Manual exposure. Set ISO low to reduce noise, aperture to small to get more of the car in focus (bot not all), and shutter speed last to get exposure.
Shot in RAW. Adjusted levels (to brighten the background), USM to make edges pop, a little bit of Gaussian to smooth the USM, crop, save for web: jpeg max, 800px wide. |

Nice shot and a 10 from me. Should have finished higher imho. Posting in the Posthumous Ribbons, Part IV thread. |

In the thumbnail this looks like the real thing! You had good lighting and it's really sharp. Also I love Camaros so I'm biased in your favour |

Looks like a kid's toy doesn't it? I'm not really into the modified cars, but that cherry red is DA BOMB!! |

The light on the driver's side door is a bit harsh IMO. |
