Challenge: Product Shot II (Advanced Editing VII)
Camera: Canon EOS-40D
Location: the back yard
Date: Mar 20, 2010
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/1250
Date Uploaded: Mar 20, 2010

It's a product. The photo was taken in the back yard. I thought an outdoor product in it's intended elements would be more fun to shoot. No editing was done besides resizing to fit the rules.

The cable of the break in te front get's too much undeserved attention. What I do like very much is the DOF. Just maybe a little less DOD to have the Cat Eye completely in focus from front till end.

There's a lot going on in the shot.

I wish there was a light back light/rim light to help separate the product from the background. That type of light will also appeal more to the tech people.

The cables going all the way across the picture is distracting.

I like the DOF in this photo. You captured the essence of the main object very well.

Wish the cable wasn't taking away from the composition.

I like this. The layout is fine. A minor levels adjustment would help this substantially IMO. Good luck in the challenge.

A good look at the product "in use" so to speak (as in mounted on the bike). You could crop the top off as it serves no purpose for the product shot per se. And though it might be tough with a real bike, you'd probably want that foreground cable out of the way for the catalog shot. (Commenting only.)
