Shot this while looking for something for "Bizzarchitecture". Hadn't really thought about entering something in this challenge, but then when I was editing this for fun, I realized the veins of a leaf branch out from each other, and I also think it's a pretty good shot. I figure voters will be looking for a literal branch, and not branching aspects of another item. I don't usually care for hitting someone over the head with the challenge topic in the title, but it may be needed this time. Hopefully the strenght of the image will survive that expected onslaught. If not, then oh well, them's the breaks.
Anticipated critiques:
-Probably going to get creamed by DNMC's from people that don't see the branching patterns, or don't think it suits the challenge topic closely enough.
-Slightly narrow DOF leaves the stones in the upper right corner a little out of focus.
Post-challenge notes:
Well,it's been a while since I've dropped a 4-bomb. Even after some very helpful in-challenge critiques, I am unable to see this as poorly as most of the voters saw it. There must be something to it this time, as the overall vote was a resounding "meh". Perhaps in a few months and with a fresh eye, I will be able to see it differently. I may also have taken a hit from people who did not feel the branching patterns of the leaf suited the challenge. |

| Lighting is a touch harsh here, I'm guessing either from an overcast sky or front on flash. |
