 Went to several different places but ended up liking a shot from my own backyard best. This one of my Japanese Maples. I like the delicate branch structure of these trees and find them attractive all year round. In the rain with all the bokeh from the raindrops it looked sort of magical to me, so I played that up with some non-standard colors.

Pinhole sort of effect came from taping a paper towel with a hole cut out over the lens hood. Very sophisticated! And an experiment that may well bomb, but I'm overdue for a 4.x score, anyway.

And I got very wet shooting this ;-)

PP - cropped, levels, tinted pink/purple, increased contrast, decreased saturation on red/orange, burnt/dodged/airbrushed a bit to even out my pinhole some, resized, sharpened, added border.

This was one of my faves. Would've like to seen it MUCH higher. Funny how some of the most interesting effects are accomplished with the simplest means.

First buds of spring always amaze me! I like the bokeh and the dof. Not a big fan of the vignetting, I wish it was more feathered. Overall, a very beautiful image. 8

Nice soft colours, beautiful DOF although I would have liked the edge of the branch at the left a bit more in focus. Taken the whole set-up in consideration, this is but a small detail *8*

Pretty background. I love how the branch in the front pops. I wish that it wasn't vingetted on the left so much, I feel like you lose some of the pop. I really like this!
