 Today I was walking near the river (the Seine, France) when I saw some interesting moss spots on the rocks just next to the water. Their diameter were about 2 to 3cm.

The green and red "flowers" are called sporophytes, and their purpose is of course reproduction. Almost half a year is needed for these to mature! Good luck little mosses ;-)

Note: I used an additional 25mm macro tube with the lens.

6 - I like the subject and for me, the beauty of the little scene and the light, are what appeal most and bring this closer to 'art', however I don't think the full potential has been reached. I also am distracted by the OOF fore on the left and the dark/black areas in the rear.

This one resonates with me simply because I have a fair number of little mosses growing in my yard, and it never fails to amaze me when I water a dry one and watch the seed heads visibly unfurl. It's just cool! Amazing little organisms.

What caught my eye right away was the combination of colors. Sweet. Then, the vignette puts a spotlight on the wierd subject. Usually I don't like vignette's but this one works. These little whatever-they-are-entities are so quixotic & cute, I can't help but like them.
