Landing light from "Staggerwing" serial number one at the Beechcraft Heritage Museum in Tullahoma, TN.

Used RawTherapee to export the raw file to Gimp, where I used auto-levels, curves, made a layer for HSV saturation, and cropped.

Used wavelet denoise, unsharp mask, scaled to size, and optimized for web.

There was one of these that flew over this area every week for quite some time about 7 or 8 years ago. It's a beauty of a plane to see, and wonderful to hear as it chugs across the sky. These were the "it" aircraft for private executive transportation back in their day.

Beauty of image: Medium (interesting to me)
Technical skill: Low to medium

I stand by my comment below. It is eclectic though.

m going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: There is a diffused, plasticy look to this image that I like. It captures the feel of a toy somehow. There is enough information in the picture to maintain a viewer's interest but little enough to preserve some ambiguity. I particularly like the view we can see outside - right up to the tree line too.

Critical stuff: That diffused look I like could be construed as being a lack of sharpness.

Overall: An image that I find to be very interesting; I wonder how many people will stop and give it some time.

I like the red ... and the title. The thing under the left wing is kind of distracting IMO. Over all good job!

I like the effort to try and do a semi-abstract view of this plane, but this is coming off to me fairly soft and slightly OOF. Might be just a few quick adjustments away from being a really nice shot, however.
