The badly blown highlights in the sky and pillars really detracts from this shot. A lower perspective might have also added some additional drama to the shot. Generally, shooting from a normal standing height makes photos less-interesting because it's what we always see. |

Foreground is more interesting than what's through the gates. |

Very good composition. I like the open gate and the peek into the statue. It is pretty blown out and over exposed though. I don't know if you used manual or automatic settings but I would try increasing the shutter speed to allow less light to pass through to the sensor. Possibly try framing the shot so the columns fill the left and right border to the top getting rid of the white sky. All in all a very creative shot! |
