 Regrettably without access to a tropical paradise or desert for this challenge, I made the most of my home and chose the angry orange of a stovetop element for my hot photo.

One of the better electric burner shots I've seen. I think what you did well here was to get in very close, making a semi-abstract out of it.

I like your idea and everything works for me except for the focus. It seems the outer rim is the main subject and if you could have focused on the first or second heating element I think this would of worked really well.
