Thanks for all the comments. A few have mentioned the noise. I think that's the result of processing. I used Topaz with perhaps too heavy a hand but I wanted to bring out more details in the scales. A run through Neat Image didn't help much. A 2nd run through Topaz noise reduction helped some. Perhaps I'll go back to the original image and start again.

OK..this is the new image with no Topaz. It is somewhat cleaner.

Good job on the timing, the criss-cross gives a nice sense of motion.

Such a beautiful and graceful shot. I love how you caught them gliding over each other.

Edit - I forgot to add this. When I use Topaz, I do a layer of Topaz Denoise first. I use the SRAW Normal filter. Then I go on and use Topaz Detail. If the Topaz software creates any extra noise in areas I wanted clean, I just mask it out!

I love the lively colours of the fish amidst all that darkness. I like the arrangement of the fish - you caught them at a good moment.

I think Canon cameras have a tendency to focus on specific portions of things.. I have that problem all the time. In this case, the front portion of the top fish is a tad soft whereas the bottom fish is sharp. I like the composition very much.

the color contrasting to the black is great
topaz can be a bit tricky i have started playing about with it too and it does take some getting used to

Wonderful colors here. The X pattern presents a great composition. I am assuiming with the 18-55mm lens you either got in real close or this is a crop. I think it's a crop thus you can see the noise a little bit... That bein said, this picture is really a great addition to your previous picture of the dog! Your gallery is looking great!
