I think a newspaper would want to see a little more of what makes it a dragon boat.

I can't see the boat, Is it supposed to look like a Dragon? Also maybe leave a little room in front of the boat. I think that gives the viewer an idea of where the subject is going.

An interesting crop, it really gives a feeling for the number of people involved. One of the better photo in the challenge.

It's a shame that big white boat is in the background. It kind of detracts from what is otherwise an interesting scene. I would suggest a rephrasing of the headline, "Dragon Boat Racers Return To South Haven".
The subject has relevence as a human interest or weekend section story.

Good photo. Not sure what's going on exactly but pretty good nonetheless. For your headline I'd recommend less words. Maybe "Dragon Boat Racers Return to South Haven".
