Comment:
I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: This just flat out brilliant - one of the best uses of selective desaturation I have seen because it contributes to the feel and the meaning of the image so effectively. There are so many British elements here - the obvious stuff and the subtle too (the hashed traffic box, the cones and the traffic sign for example). The light is tremendous too.
Critical stuff: The background looks a tad moved and then recovered with sharpening but the strength of the image easily carries it.
Overall: An amazing image. 10 and a fave. |

Excellent shot. Perfect potrail of "All that is British" somehow finding a pleasurable insight into the bain of our lives. |

I don't it being not sharp, I thought it adds up to the entire story this photo tells. |

Great shot. I love the rain and the dreary dismal feel. |

This has an authentic vintage feel to it. Why the desat? It's not bad, I guess, but probably wouldn't have been my choice. Overall, very nice. |

Great catch. The title helps to point the viewer in the right direction.
Let me guess... Lots of rain, roadworks everywhere, the royal mail, the tube and war?
The execution could have been a bit better, though. More of the scene in focus, and maybe inclusion of the legs? |
