Must have been a very still night.. Did you use any lighting at all or is this all natural? Let me know.

I gave this a 9 and am really surprised to see that it did not finish above a 6. I never would have guessed it as your's, Judi, I thought it was by jdannels. Stunning and underrated.

17+ minute exposure? Wow! Turned out beautiful. Apparently not enough overall visual impact to finish higher in this tough challenge. Great job though.

Hi Judi! This is interesting, and different from your usual images. The strong foreground light, and the way the star streaks fill the sky, it somehow reminds me of driving in the rain at night.
Keep experimenting with this.

Feels like a celestial rainstorm. I like how the tree stands out in stark contrast to the rest of the scene -- almost like it's pulling energy from the stars. Really good.

I like the pic here and the Title does explaine what you did here. As such it works great. Maybe longer star trails would have helped to create that feeling even stronger. Currently it creates a different mood altogether with these short jagged trails. Got a really cool tree there and the orange light in grass works for me contrasted against the blue/black sky

The foreground is really bright here, I'm wondering if you lit it this way intentionally or if it was just a result of background light in the long exposure.

I think it works well for the tree, but not so much the yellow grass which just dominates the shot despite only being a small section along the bottom.

I really, really like this! Love the star trails and I am assuming you painted the tree with light? Brilliant!!! This looks like it could be in the African savannah.
