Using the mask layer tools, selected the sticks and tomatoe.
inverse selection for the background.

Additional levels and curves adj.

converted to grey scale.

further levels and curves.

using "selective colour" darkend midtones and highlights.

using "highlights and shadows" added midtone contrast.

cloned awaya distracting spot upper left. Burnded distraction bottom right.

new background layer, linear dodge at
42%

3rd bgrd layer, soft light at 46%
4th bgrd layer, soft light at 46%, adjusted levels and contrast again.

resize, bucubic sharper.
