 I did this under modelling lights rather than use the strobes - it gave me a better sense of what I was shooting - I think that was a mistake since I think the pears were swinging ever so slightly which at 1/20 second exposure pushed them out of focus just a little.

The background is the back of a rattan chair.

I tried an edit where I suppressed the highlights but it looked a little inert by comparison.

The colors work well, and the idea is fun and unique. May have been stronger with a different bg. Lighting is on the edge of being too strong...not quite (on this monitor) for me, but others with different monitors??? Just a couple observations. Good luck in the challenge.

a smaller light off to the lower right would have helped bring out the curves of the pears which I think would have improved this composition quite a bit. Its a nice use of negative space, however and the red wool is a lovely contrast.

I really like the idea, too.

I wish the background were solid black and this still had this awesome lighting. The dots distract me a bit. But, I'm not voting, and I'm probably the only one. :)

interesting idea. lighting is a bit harsh. the dark area doesn't make sense to me.
