 Honestly, I looked back at the original again and I can't figure out how I managed to make it usable... It's such an weirdly exposed image that I'm stunned. And I had to take so many decisions.. like should the face become really bright or should I let it in the shadows.. Now, only the voters can tell me if I was right or wrong..

I know I've taken some better stuff (technically) but I kind of love this one.. so.. you know.

complete candid of course.. most of my other shots were with him looking in the back so it's a very lucky bit that I got eye contact..

and yes, he rowed us to and back from the other side of the lake... I nearly had a mad dash up the mountains but I realized the limitations of time.. there's another lake up there (there's a pathway in the folds of the mountains)but it's a 5 hour hike and usually frozen over..

and if you look closely on the lake surface you can see other boats.

Holy Crap!!!.. Why is a man who is 155 pounds wearing a XXXL outfit??. Priceless! He looks like the "after photo" of a Jenny Craig commercial or biggest loser ad!

This angle just pulls me into the image. Feels almost like I am sitting on the other end of the boat. Great job!

This is a really nice shot but you should have cropped out the flowery looking thing on the right.

EXCELLENT !! makes for a great travel shot , well almost I wish that red/orange trimming was not there. GREAT background , white cloud just a tad blown out. 8

He seems to be competing with a much-too-beautiful background. I almost wish he weren't there. A tighter DOF might have isolated your subject more effectively.
