Greetings from the Critique Club!
Great detail and that stare is awesome - you did a fine job of catching that look! Solid composition, drawing us to that very focused eye, then gradually letting us take in the sneer and the laid back ears. Color is good, but that bright green is just a bit off-putting; while it is undoubtedly the color that was there, the mind (at least mine) almost wants a darker, "meaner" green. The green that is there is too kind and gentle for the cat's stare, if that makes sense. (And it probably doesn't!) Although you'd lose the marvelous golden tones of the eye and the coat, I do wonder what this might look like in monochrome. And yep, I think the Topaz did a nice job of bringing out the detail without being obviously Topaz'd - I'd not have known it without your notes. |
