Some flowers that someone left on a statue in Kapiolani Park.

Tried to be subtle by adding a slight bluish tint for a touch of coolness to balance the fiery hot hibiscus.

Thanks, I thought this would've done MUCH better than your average flower pic. I suppose people were turned off by the brightness of the flowers and the bluish tone I added to cool off the pic since the flowers appeared "on fire."

Still, I don't know why people insisted that the statue was the focus of my photo when it is desaturated. Yes, it is in focus of the lens but I had clearly wanted it to become part of the background as well, drawing the focal point to the flowers. A balance of nature and man-made, delicate and metallic, yin and yang. I guess I got too artsy.

This is really a great photo. (I would guess that the voters don't like statues, maybe?)

The flowers are nice and colorful, but the grays just seem to blend in a bit too much. It's tough to see where the head stops and the background begins, making it a little distracting.

Interesting. I'm not sure about the slight blue-ish hue to the desaturated part of the image, but good none the less.

beautiful idea. I assume you placed the flowers on the statue. I like the way you think. You obviously have a great eye and creativity. 10 :)

I am normally sick of flower pictures but I actually like this one. Nicely done. 7

Not a good picture to use - statues are always drab, desaturating a statue doesn't make it stand out. That, and it looks like you oversaturate the remaining colors - they are way too bright.
