This one, when I did the first 45 degree rotation I increased the scale to 150% then blended with lighten and flattened down. Each subsequent layer was rotated about 20 deg, scaled at 70 or 80% and blended again with lighten. By scaling down with each subsequent layer the outer edge from the underlying layer remains visible and you start to get the spiral effect. You have to repeat this quite a bit. The final layer will be quite tiny in proportion to the canvas size.

Oh I am MAD for this. Absolutely stunning. If you put this on a 2 inch depth artist's canvas and put it up for sale (oh, you could add brush strokes with clear painter's medium to add depth and dimension) you could sell this for a lot of money. I adore it.

The particular path you have taken reminds me so much of fractals and their variations.
