I had a ton of fun with this challenge. My thanks to the powers that be. At my stage of learning, being challenged to define my style was nothing short of an educational experience. :)

What is my style? A little left of normal. Heh, I took a photo of a big arrow on the ground, framed it up so the geometries were perfect, post-processed till I was happy with it... then submitted this.

It's a little more vague, doesn't quite joke around with the theme so much, but is a much better photo. And honestly, I poured every bit of skill I could into it. (A dangerous thing to admit before judging begins.) But I look from this back to what I submitted to my first challenge a tad more than a year ago... I think I'm learning.

GREETINGS FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB

Well, I don't know what you were doing a year ago, but, indeed this is pretty nice. Love the sky and the colors and the flow of clouds across the sky.

Oh, I wish you had flipped this image horizontally. It pops beautifully when you do that.

Compositionally, that tree with the cropped branches looks great on the left (as you say: a little left of normal) as it is then leading you into the picture. the sun on the trunk leads to the clouds, and on we go. Where it is now, it looks (forgive me) a little like a mistake as the clipped branches take the viewer right out of the picture.

Make sense? If not, don't worry about it. You are well on your way in the learning curve. Keep up the good work.
