That pose with the stick worked out very well, crop is excellent, like it a lot! Excellent use of DOF to draw one's attention to the face yet still placing him in his environment. |

turned out VERY well. Nice photo - something I would expect as a promo shot for a documentary on nat'l geographic or something similar. Very good! |

Yes. Quite well indeed! You get the feeling that you are really looking at a story more than a technically perfect portrait -- which to me is always better.

Nice shot. I have heard of that trick where you give them a prop and they relax and act natural. It is good to see that it works. I like how it is used as a leading line. Maybe you should have used something like f11 to get the hand in focus as well then in photoshop blur the background to what it is now. I would have shot from slightly higher up to the stick covers up the top of the line of rocks in the back ground. |

very nice natural portrait with good definition in the face. Something about the subject moving out of the frame seems wrong at first look but after a while it seems to work well for me. |
