I personally like the negative space. The model's face seems a bit too grainy for me though.

Awwwwwww... now that is a CUTE portrait of that little fellow. I love the scale that having the girl holding him gives it. You can see just how little that little fellow is! :)

Nice shot I don't know if this should be a dog portrait or a portrait with a person and a dog. The other commenters might be right saying it is slightly too warm, though the model might have a tan so I cannot tell. I would have tried to get you model to look straight into the dogs eyes to give some extra contact and maybe tried to get the dog to look right at the camera, though that can be tough.

A pair of cuties! Nicely posed/composed, dog seems very cooperative. To me it also looks like your WB is off a bit (a bit too red).
