 Editing: Crop; clone out telephone switch box, viewing mirror, antenna, stop sign, graffiti & one weed in drive; Neat Image for slight noise removal and sharpen; mask gate and remove color from rest of picture; adjust blue of gate; levels; contrast; burn trees and road.

Taken on one of the back alleyways of Taos, New Mexico. Took one of these in the evening but ran down again this morning to get one with morning light which I liked better than the one with evening light.

Was that gate originally that blue colour or did you add the blue colour? That's a great location but I don;t think that selective desaturation works here.

Nicely composed and a good example of how this technique can add interest to an otherwise ordinary subject.

Very well done, and I think you identified a very good subject for de-sat. The blue is just a bit too saturated or bright for me. I would like to see the same picture with a slightly toned down blue gate and see what it looks like, and maybe a little sharper B & W contrast.
