"All the world is full of inscape and chance left free to act falls into an order as well as purpose." - Gerard Manley Hopkins

Notes:

I anticipate I might receive criticism that the bird is too small a part of the image. But for me, this image is appealing because of all the visual elements within it - the crisscrossing of tree trunks and branches, for instance - and not only the supposed subject, the bird. Cropping to make the bird a larger focal point would take away that appeal.

Also, I tweaked the image in RAW to look overexposed, which suited my view of how the image should look. I have a tendency to "ruin" my shots like that. :)

The bird is pecking at a seed he's holding between his feet.

Love the soft pallete, delicate scene and processing.

Oh, I would say you have "ruined" your shot most delightfully!

Haven't voted in a while, and here I find a beautiful Karen shot in my top 3. Shouldn't be surprised, I guess. :)

I love the soft white light surrounding the bird. And it's amazing that you could still keep so much detail on the bird. Very cool.

love the shot but I don't think the centered composition works

Cute little Titmouse. Kind of a dreamy effect, very nice colors.

I have a feeling that voters are probably knocking this one down for the overexposure, but I really like that about it. The pastel blue/green in the background is beautiful as well. Hope this does well, despite my prediction.

I quite love the brightness of this, the warmth of the cool color scheme, and the curious pose of the bird. Lovely shot!

Very interesting choice of processing. May not agree with some voters. I like it!

The light blues in this are almost magical. Wonderful high key type of shot.

Nice image, if you like high key.... I don't... I will still try to be objective though.
