I think the processing did your score in on this one... I like the shot and the title...and ... actually, it reminds me of an old photo of my grandmother's house.

PS edge accent filter is too obvious - looks solarised, but perhaps this is your intention?

That looks like some strange editing. It looks ok on the roof, but the trees (especially the one on the far left) don't look so great, in my opinion. I do like your title though.

Though it's not a bad example of decay, it speaks suburbia to me rather than rural.....5

lol it's seen better days that's for sure. The tones you used really do help add age and interest to this old place.

Looks like an old pic from he early 50's, but it's not having much impact on me. A few things might make a difference...

-Stronger contrast
-Wider or narrower view of the scene. This seems to be a bit tight of a crop, but not intentionally so. (Does that make any sense?)
-A slight vignette can help add to a nostalgic look. Getting an effective vignette is something I am still working on.
-Though certainly something found in rural areas, this style of house may not be screaming "rural" to many voters.
