I love the light in this image. The darkness of the subject really emphasizes his isolation against the light background. There's a real sense of desolation and aloneness, even vulnerability. The detail in the foreground contrasts so well with the soft distant background. This is a beautiful and provocative image.

i love the desert. i love black and white. and long windy dirt roads. and dogs and interesting people. hey, even solitary roadsigns are great. you can just see the heat in this picture. looks like great photography country! a great photograph that is well thought out and composed. 10

I really like this one. The dog adds a lot, makes it harder to choose not to pick up. Having the face in the shadows makes it look a little scarier. The feeling of being in a desolated area is perfect.
