FYI: that "strap that barbers use" is called a "strop", as you ought to know since Brit schoolmasters were wont to strop their charges at any sign of miscreancy :-) Cool shot too. |

Can't really see what she's holding -- I'm guessing she's about to clobber somebody. Besides that, the textures (or lack thereof) in her face look unnatural. |

Her face and hair have the look of a 20's glamour girl, but he rest of the image suggests a bit of 21st century kink. |

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:
Positives: Well, this is certainly an unconventional portrait and one that might suggest a myriad of things to different people.I really do like the light, the atmosphere, the overall idea and even parts of the post processing.
Critical stuff: The other parts of the post processing! Although I like the unsharpness (I suppose this could be movement), I'm not a fan of the over-smoothed skin tones or the blown highlights.
Overall: Great idea and lighting but for me the final image doesn't live up to the vision. |
