I really like this image, obviously.

I know some have said about the lack of detail in her face and smoothness of it all.

I like the lack of detail and smoothness, because in my mind, you look at the shot and you mentally fill in what is lacking. I thought that this made it interesting as there are not many photos that can make you do that.

Bridgette is holding a leather strap that barbers used to sharpen their blades on. It is now used for something totally different! =P

FYI: that "strap that barbers use" is called a "strop", as you ought to know since Brit schoolmasters were wont to strop their charges at any sign of miscreancy :-) Cool shot too.

Can't really see what she's holding -- I'm guessing she's about to clobber somebody. Besides that, the textures (or lack thereof) in her face look unnatural.

Her face and hair have the look of a 20's glamour girl, but he rest of the image suggests a bit of 21st century kink.

Stark, moody, interesting. I like it.

OK, I'm going through the Free Study submissions, purposefully finding those images I think are shot with a less conventional eye - this is one of those images! Thanks for offering something that isn't just DPC friendly eye-candy (though of course there's nothing wrong with eye-candy). I'll be picking one of these images for the Mu (most underrated) award:

Positives: Well, this is certainly an unconventional portrait and one that might suggest a myriad of things to different people.I really do like the light, the atmosphere, the overall idea and even parts of the post processing.

Critical stuff: The other parts of the post processing! Although I like the unsharpness (I suppose this could be movement), I'm not a fan of the over-smoothed skin tones or the blown highlights.

Overall: Great idea and lighting but for me the final image doesn't live up to the vision.
