A portrait of my nephew, Hayden. He is 2 years old.

Post editing: Slight crop at top. Convert to b&w, then extra red sepia tone. very slight dodge on right eye.

I'm sure people won't like the landscape format for a portrait, but it is intentional. I wanted the 'wide world' all around the boy, with him showing obvious wonder.

Taken with 18-70mm F/3.5-4.5 lens

I think this should have done much better than it did. AT least I was one of thoes 11 who gave it an 8.

Great expression, nice soft light and good focus. I would crop away part of the right of the image and soften the toning.

I think an off-centered composition would have looked better here, nice photo otherwise...

I like the tones - adds interest and a mood. The texture of the jacket comes out great, and the sharpness of the image is great with a nice blurred background. A few nitpicks would be that I would have liked to have seen the eyes a little brighter and sharper - they are so big and 'puppy-dog-like' that they are the main focus of the shot. Cropping off a little on the right would also make him/her not be in the direct center of the shot and potentially make for a better composition, otherwise a portrait orientation instead of landscape, but I do like the format, just a little extra background on the right. Nice kid shot!
