Now who had thunk that!
Original idea by german photographer Georg Wendt, who executed it way better (he had better lighting and a make-up stylist, though). Wasn't easy to get the little painters (expensive, too, they're hand-painted in Mauritius), was even harder to paint bubeltrubel's face, took longer than the shoot itself.
Anyway, thanks for all your votes and comments. After more than 300 challenges and almost 4 years on DPC, the 7 1s still bug me, though.

When a photo like this gets seven 1's, it is such blatant confirmation of how petty and jealous those 7 were of your work. And a 7.2470 score in spite of seven 1's! WOW! Congratulations to you two for taking the top 2 spots with this incredible idea!

Saw this one during voting, didn't see Christiane's, though. Great shot, I know it would do well. Congrats on your ribbon, Oliver.

VERY clever, you guys! Congrats on the 1-2 ribbons for the week - that's quite the accomplishment! And as I told Christiane, the two pictures make a good set together.

Surprised the heck out of me. I was guessing someone else. If I had not committed my guess, it would have been who I thought it was. Regardless, it does not surprise me that this shot and it's sibling were the top two. Congrats on a well deserved placement for a creative entry.

I would love to have a bunch of figures like that, but they're so expensive here (imports from Germany). Anyway, this should end up on the front page.

This and the other entry of the same theme must have been done together. Too much of a coincidence and the figurine is the same. I am going to hazard a guess that these two entries are from a certain father and son team.

Interesting take on the challenge. But not original since I saw another with the same concept. Nice colors! 8

What a unique idea, and how bizarre two of you had it. My only suggestion for a possible improvement is to keep part of the skin clear, which may have an even greater impact.

This is fantastic! Only image that caught my eye right out of the thumbs. I'm gonna vote the rest of the challenge just to be sure you get to keep the 10 I'm giving you now.

OK, so where are all these teeny painter guys on ladders coming from? Just wish this guy had a few convincing paint splotches on him. 9
